|Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0000172: add more encryption (private messages, ...)|
"i'm wondering, the private messages that a user sends to another user, are they encrypted in the database?
because it's good to have decentralized network and all, but if you're gonna be hosted by someone, maybe you don't want him to be able to see all your private messages
this feature could definitely make me choose one application over another
i mean how can you convince your friends to switch from facebook to friendika for privacy if they will in some way have less privacy?
but it would be handy to have everything in one app
so you don't have to bother setting up a jabber server and all"
- I just checked in friendika 2.3.1122 + I can see in mysql that private messages are not encrypted
- this mantis is used for that particular user to keep track about (when) this feature (is implemented)

I think keep them cripted would be overkill and unusefull, as we need also to keep the key to decript it in db, to show you decripted text...
The main point in a ditribuited social network is that if you don't trust your node, you can change, or host your own...
